Chlorothalonil is a high efficient, low toxic and broad spectrum fungicide. Its action mechanism lies in the reaction with the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in the fungal cell where the cysteine-containing protein in the dehydrogenase is integrated to destruct enzyme activity, resulting in loss of vitality from the damage of metabolism of fungal cell.
